I'm sorry. What?
“Barack Obama failed to utter the word ‘victory’ a single time during last night’s debate on foreign policy,” Mr. Bounds said in a statement. “And that’s failing the commander in chief test by any standard.”
What?
WHAT.
What if Obama, say, believes that the goal of foreign policy is not to WIN, what if Obama believes that the goal of foreign policy is to maintain civil relations -- friendly, even -- with other nations in an effort to bring peace and harmony to the world?
YOU KNOW. WHAT IF?!?!?!

Don't worry. I will summarize for you.
Obama makes reasonable argument A
McCain says, "Look at how inexperienced he is."
McCain then makes a circular argument that, ultimately, when you boil it down? ...IS THE SAME MOTHER FUCKING THING.
Repeat.

I was driving on 210 (a /huge/ highway) doing about 70 mph when, suddenly, my car ...did something. It rode a little weird for a while, then, BAM. Kaboom. Explosion. My tire was shredded, it ripped itself off the wheel. I barely managed to make it three lanes over and parked on a shoulder, which is a bad idea in L.A. since apparently, people just ... BAM. Into you. That did not happen. Pshew.
So I parked and I stared at the world and had no idea what to do -- I couldn't get out and walk because of the highway on one side and on the other, there was an exit ramp. I thought I didn't have my phone, so I had NO IDEA what to do. I cried. That was my solution. To cryyy and cryyyy. And then I found my phone! Oh good.
I called Brad and he asks if I had a spare. This thought hadn't occurred to me. Because I was lost to the crazy upset. He came, he put my spare on, and I took his car to rehearsal while he drove mine home to see about getting a tire before my 6 am call (no, no he didn't get a tire, so hello. I am at home). At rehearsal, I cut myself on glass.
:(
Here is my tire:

I love books. I love reading. I love books that have /meaning/ within them and that makes me happy. It's fun for me to search out the deeper ideals and thoughts within a text. I like it. It is not boring to me, it is exciting and invigorating.
Ergo! I am really looking forward to finishing out my Nabakov line, which is where I think my next several paychecks will go.

I will be part of a production filming a piece about Dred Scott and the landmark Supreme Court decision! I will be playing Dr. Emerson’s wife, Irene Emerson. I am SO excited about this — the script looked fantastic and the character has such amazing potential. There’s a meeting this Sunday to get started! Squee!
Aaaand, the theatre company I have been working with asked me to be part of their Company (troupe, if you will). If you’re in the L.A. area, check out Atwater Playhouse and their showcases — I’ll be there. ACTING.

A handful of cool stuff has been happening lately.
First, I have been nailing auditions. I even had one guy e-mail me to say that they thought I was by far the best actress they saw all day! I wasn't picked for that project; they wanted to use me for the feature. Even so, it's super nice to know that, uh, I'm not wasting my time in this business.
Also, I switched theatre companies about a month ago; same acting method and everything, just infinitely closer to the house. I love it. I'm impressed with the quality of acting they produce and I feel like I'm putting my already-learned skills to use and picking up new ones. Just now, I got a call from theatre to tell me that a casting director wanted the company members to send her a headshot/resume... and they want to include me even though I'm not in the company! So yeah. I'm excited.
I hope this upturn just keeps on turning up!
